Harilal Hirani, B.Sc (Hons) FRICS IRRV MPVAI, leads a multi-disciplinary practice of Chartered Valuers & Building Surveyors. He doesn’t believe in the theory that “Only 3 things happen without leadership – friction, confusion and under-performance. Everything else requires leadership”. He provides understanding and visionary direction to enable ALL staff to positively broaden their experience, add to their expertise & achieve their goals; in the process inheriting the philosophy of giving only “ reliable, researched, reasoned & responsible advice “.
He has been a practicing surveyor since 1976 [ 38 years ] having a wide range of experience in Capital & Rental Valuations of residential, commercial, industrial, hotel, nursing & care homes, public houses, leisure properties (including operating/going concern Business Goodwill Assessment), development projects, home buyer & building surveys, rent reviews, lease renewals, landlord & tenant litigation and most other disciplines of professional work.
He regularly gives evidence in various Courts, Statutory Tribunals, Public & Government Committees & Panels / Enquiries on behalf of various clients, financial and corporate institutions and public ( & semi-public ) bodies, as well as Charity & Social Organisations.
He also acts as an Arbitrator / Expert, [jointly appointed on numerous occasions – recently on a £55million dispute and a £100 million proposed Hotel development]. He has an analytical / inquisitive mind & a patient positive reasoned approach, which has resulted immensely in assisting numerous litigating / aggrieved parties to conclude beneficially, financially and satisfactorily.
His most recent advice has related to Commercial & Residential Valuations spanning – Surveyors & Solicitors negligence, matrimonial disputes, retrospective values, probate, loss due to encroachment, compensation for breaches of and release from restrictive / binding land covenants, failure to comply with planning permission / conditions, noise compensation, leasehold enfranchisement, capital gains tax, partnership disputes and assessing operating portfolio assets / business & loss of goodwill.

LIFES OUTLOOK  – He has so far visited 42 countries and believes that “There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only who is foreign.” [ Robert Louis Stevenson ]. Travel broadens the mind and educates the body; making one humble and appreciative of the “good life” one leads. “Not all those who wander are lost.” [ J.R.Tolkien ].
